A man named Derwin Brown was
chosen and elected overwhelmingly by the people of Dekalb County to be
your leader and representative in the office of Sheriff of Dekalb
County. It was your collective will that spoke out on that rainy
election night much to the surprise and disappointment of some in high
places and not so high places. It was because of your collective
intelligence, insight and courage that a man who truly stood for truth,
integrity and justice was elected. He vowed to root out corruption and
you knew that he meant business. Unfortunately, so did the evil forces
of corruption and since he could not be bought, he was killed. The life
of a righteous man....DENIED. The will of righteous people....DENIED. It
is again time for the righteous to be courageous and do whatever is
necessary to insure that true justice and righteousness prevails. There
is a segment of the law enforcement community and county government that
is truly committed to finding the killers of Sheriff-elect Derwin Brown
and those who may have conspired to have him assassinated. There may
also exist a segment of the law enforcement community and county
government whose interests will better served if the truth is never
discovered. Therefore, we the family of Sheriff-elect Derwin Brown
(mother, sisters and brother), ask that you join us in our appeal to the
United States Department of Justice and the U.S. Attorney General's
Office to investigate public corruption in the Dekalb County Government
in connection with the brutal assassination of Sheriff-elect Derwin
Brown.

We leave you with the words of Sheriff-elect Derwin Brown: "There have always been a few who have stood up for the many, often at times when the many would not stand for themselves. Whether out of fear, intimidation, or ignorance there have always been those who ride the victories and sacrifices of others, cheering and celebrating as if they dared to make a difference. Yes, even some who would minister to you about God's power and the armor and shield that "the word" provides seem to falter in their convictions when it's time to "step out on faith" and challenge the unrighteousness found in their workplace, community or government. What sacrifice are you willing to make for truth and righteousness? Are you leading a double life, speaking of injustices in whispers, while exclaiming all your faith in the creator? These are questions for self-examination. Are you willing to pick up the drum of justice? "THE TIME IS NOW!! PEACE" |
